IBA University Karachi
It was in 1955 the Institute of Public and Business Administration (IPBA) was established, making it one of the oldest business school outside North America and often considered the best business university in Pakistan. Initial technical support was provided by the world famous Wharton School of Finance, University of Pennsylvania. Soon after the University of Southern California set up various facilities at the Institute and several prominent American professors were assigned to the IBA. The course contents, the curriculum, the pedagogical tools and the assessment and testing methods were developed under the guidance of reputed scholars from these two institutions. IBA has zealously guarded the high standards and academic traditions it had inherited from Wharton and USC while adapting and adjusting them with the passage of time.
The IBA launched a 2-year Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) program in 1968 under the patronage of University of Karachi and later on a 4-year BBA in 2002. To meet the international standards, IBA changed the curricula of its bachelor programs after acquiring status of the degree awarding institute. The BS Computer Science program was introduced in 1999. In 2002, the IBA undergraduate programs were upgraded to 4-year degree programs. Considering the growing demand of certain courses in the market, the IBA introduced a series of BS programs, including BS Economics and Mathematics, BS Social Sciences and Liberal Arts and BS Accounting and Finance in 2012 and 2013. The IBA has also introduced the BS Economics program and BS Math program.
Main Campus IBA University Karachi
IBA University Karachi has two campuses. The IBA Main Campus, located in Karachi University, established in 1965 and the City Campus located in Saddar Karachi, established in 1967. After a successful admission in IBA University Karachi, the student can choose to take classes in either campus.
