Guide to MDCAT Registration 2024: Process, Tips and Timeline
PMDC has opened registration for MDCAT 2024. Every year more than 200,000 students register for the MDCAT exam in Pakistan. The registration process has been online for more than three years, and can be a confusing process for students applying for the first time. This article will help you navigate through the online registration portal for MDCAT 2024.
How to Apply Online for MDCAT Registration 2024
For MDCAT online registration, go to the official PMDC website https://pmdc.pk/. On the bottom left, there is a section for MDCAT registration that takes you to the registration portal. Here you can find the MDCAT registration form 2024. Like previous years, this form is online only.

MDCAT Registration 2024 - Eligibility Criteria
MDCAT registration 2024 criteria states that candidates must have completed their intermediate/HSSC with Pre-Medical group (or an equivalent exam eg. A levels) and scored at least 60%.
Candidates who are waiting for their exam results can also apply. This means students who have given their 12th grade exams this summer and have not received their results yet, can also apply. These students will enter their 11th grade results in the registration form.
A candidate’s MDCAT result will be valid for three years. If you wish to retake the MDCAT during this time, your highest score will be counted.
Dates and Deadlines for MDCAT Registration 2024

- Online Registration Portal for Entry Exam Starts: 5th August 2024
- Online Registration Portal for Entry Exam Ends: 19th August 2024
- Online Registration Portal for Entry Exam with Late Fee Ends: 26th August 2024
- MDCAT 2024 Exam: Sunday, 22nd September 2024 at 10 AM
Fee for MDCAT Registration 2024
PMDC has also announced MDCAT 2024 registration fee. As expected, it is a bit higher than last year with regular fees being 8000 rupees. The following table details registration fee and late registration fee for local and foreign candidates.
List of Required Documents for MDCAT Registration 2024
Right now, to register for this test you only need two documents:
- A recent photo of yourself against a white or blue background
- A scan of your most recent official result
However, the form does ask for your domicile city. If you do not yet have a domicile, you should apply for one immediately as you will need it along with other documentation when applying to medical universities.
To register for the MDCAT, follow these steps.
Step 1: Create your account
The first thing you need to for online registration for MDCAT 2024 is to create an account on the PMDC website.
- Go to PMDC Official Website and click on the button in the bottom left corner that says ‘MDCAT Registration’. Alternately, you can go directly to https://mdcat.pmdc.pk/Account/Login. You will see this login screen.To create and account, click on the register button and you will see this screen.
- To create an account, click on the 'Register' button and you will see this screen.
- Enter you full name and father’s name in the fields provided. Make sure your name matches the name on your CNIC/B-form and your education certificates.
- In the ‘Identification type’ field, select the appropriate form of ID. If you are a Pakistani citizen living in Pakistan, this will be the first option (CNIC/B-FORM/Smart-Card).
- Next, enter your CNIC number, Issuance date, Contact number, Gender, Date of Birth, and Email address. Make sure your persona information matches your CNIC. Another important thing is to provide a proper phone number and email address that you can access later, as they may be used for further communication.
- Next type in a password that you can remember, and type it again in the ‘confirm password’ field.
- Answer the verification question, and click on the ‘Sign up’ button.
- You should see a message that says ‘Account created successfully’ and a button that says ‘Click here to Log in’.
Step 2: Log into your account
After you have created your account the next step is to login to your account. To do this, go back to the login screen below, and type in the email ID and password you entered to create your account.
After logging in you will this screen with the information you provided already filled in, some fields you need to fill in, and a menu on the right hand side.
Step 3: Enter your information
Next you need to enter the information that is required.
- First, enter your ‘City of Residence’ from the dropdown menu. This is just the city where you live. If your city is not on the list, choose the closest location you can find.
- Next, enter your ‘City of Domicile’. This is the city where you’re originally from, and the one that is on your domicile. If you do not have a domicile yet, you should apply for one immediately and enter here the city that will be on your domicile.
- Next, choose your preferred university. You should choose this according to your province and location. This year, there are six choices for test conducting universities that you can choose from.
Once you have chosen your preferred university, you can select your preferred test city from the given locations. This is the city where your test will be conducted. Choose the city closest to your location. You will have the following options according to your choice of university.
- Now, select your degree type (FSc or A level) and enter your most recent obtained grades. For freshers these will be your first year percentage or AS level grades, and for improvers this will be your consolidated percantage for inter or your A levels grades.
Step 4: Upload your photo
Once you have entered all your information, you have to upload two photos.
- One recent photo of yourself against a white or blue background
- One photo of your most recent result.
- If you are a fresher, upload a scan of your first year marksheet or AS level statement of result.
- If you are an improver, upload a scan of your consolidated intermediate marksheet, or your A2 level statement of result.
Both of these must be in JPG format. If your photos are in any other format, convert them to JPG online.
Step 5: Check your information and Submit Application
When you have entered all your information, go through it once to make sure all your information is correct and then click on ‘Submit Application at the bottom of the page.
Step 6: Make the payment
Once you have checked your information and uploaded your photo and marksheet, you can move to pay your registration fees.
To do this you have to,
- Go to your dashboard. There should be a ‘Pay Now’ button showing at the top left.
- Click on the ‘Pay Now’ button on the top right of the page.
- This will take you to the payment screen below.
- Read and understand the terms and conditions given on the payment screen.
- Fees is non-refundable and non-transferable. This means if you change your mind after making the payment, you will not get your money back.
- Pending payments are cleared after 48 hours. This means that it maybe take upto two days for your payment status to change.

- Tick the checkbox next to ‘I agree that the payment is NON-REFUNDABLE and NON-TRANSFERABLE’. Once you click on this, you will be be able to select your preferred form of payment.
- You can make the payment in two ways:
- Online Payment: You can make the payment online using your debit or credit card. You will have to pay a 15 rupee bank charge for this.
- MCB Bank Challan: You can print out a fee challan and take it to any MCB Bank location to pay your fees. You will have to pay a 30 rupee bank charge for this.
What happens after fee challan payment?
Once you have made the payment, you are done with the registration process for MDCAT 2024. Now you just need to wait for your preferred university to issue your admit card, and keep and eye out for more MDCAT news. You should periodically check the PMDC website for further announcements.
