The Punjab Board has released a tentative unified examination schedule for Secondary School Certificate (SSC) 2025, including important dates for fee submission and practical examinations. The schedule encompasses both Class 9 and 10 examinations, with special arrangements considering the Ramadan period. Here's everything students and parents need to know about the upcoming matriculation exams.
The matriculation examinations will commence on March 4, 2025, with Arabic and History as the first papers, and conclude on March 24, 2025, with the Punjabi examination. The comprehensive date sheet is as follows:
Class 9 examinations will begin on March 25, 2025, with English Compulsory as the first paper, and will continue until April 18, 2025, concluding with the Punjabi paper.

This unified schedule will be followed by all educational boards across Punjab, ensuring a standardized examination process throughout the province. Students are encouraged to begin their preparation early and follow the date sheet to organize their study schedule effectively.

The expected registration fee for regular matric students (9th & 10th) under the Punjab Board in 2025 is around PKR 1,000–1,200 per part. Private students may pay slightly more, depending on their board and subject combinations.
The 9th class board exams under BISE Punjab are expected to start in the third week of March 2025, usually after the 10th class papers conclude.

The 10th class exams are expected to begin from the first or second week of March 2025, depending on the final schedule issued by BISE Lahore and other boards.
The complete matric exam schedule (9th + 10th) for Punjab Board 2025 will span from early March to early April 2025, including both written and practical papers.
As per the latest PMDC and BISE policies, the pass percentage for each subject is 40% for Lahore Board and other Punjab boards in 2025.
Punjab Board exams are considered moderately challenging, but students who study the prescribed textbooks (especially Punjab Textbook Board) and solve past papers regularly usually perform well.
To pass the matriculation exam, a student must score at least 40% in each subject, including theory and practical components (where applicable).
The 12th class (2nd Year) exams are expected to commence in May 2025, typically following the conclusion of 11th class exams.
