Last month, the Sindh High Court (SHC) mandated the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) 2024 to be reconducted within a month. Here’s all the latest information about the Sindh MDCAT reconduct, covering the reasons behind it, projected timelines, revised guidelines for Sindh students and all essential information for aspiring doctors.
MDCAT 2024 saw thousands of students in Sindh take the exam with the hope of securing their future in the medical field. However, following the initial test, numerous reports of unfair practices and potential paper leaks began to surface. These issues raised concerns about the credibility and fairness of the results. In response, student advocacy groups and parents demanded a reevaluation or retake of the exam to ensure that only deserving candidates secure admissions based on merit.
Recognizing the gravity of the situation, the Government of Sindh conducted an investigation and subsequently announced a reconduct of the MDCAT. This decision has implications for all Sindh students who previously took the test in 2024.
The MDCAT reconduct in Sindh will be conducted by IBA Sukkur (previously, IBA Karachi was nominated to conduct the test for Karachi students but they refused, and now IBA Sukkur will be conducting the test for both Karachi and Sindh students). This institution has been appointed by the Sindh government to manage the examination process, ensuring a standardized and transparent experience for all eligible candidates.
For students retaking the MDCAT 2024 in Sindh, the examination will now be conducted by IBA Sukkur through the STS portal. As part of this process, new admit cards may be issued. Students are advised to retain their previous admit cards for reference.

The retake will be held simultaneously across six cities in Sindh: Karachi, Hyderabad, Jamshoro, Shaheed Benazirabad, Larkana, and Sukkur. Make sure to note your reporting time at the center, which is 8:30 AM, as punctuality is crucial. The exam will last 3 hours and 30 minutes, featuring 200 multiple-choice questions.
The Institute of Business Administration (IBA) Sukkur will conduct the MDCAT 2024 retake on December 8th, 2024.
The Sukkur IBA Testing Service (STS) has released information about two potential test centers: LUMHS, Jamshoro and Public School, Hyderabad.
